Update on Seaplane Access to the Upper Missouri River Breaks Natlional Monument |

July 12, 2007 - As reported over the past many months, The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is considering closing portions of the Missouri River to seaplanes.
This route is the only safe corridor for light straight float seaplanes traveling between western and central parts of the U.S.. Of the thousands of letters and email comments sent to the BOR, the vast majority were form-type letters or single form-type questionnaires sent by a few special interest groups. The majority less, of course, the seaplane pilot community, who overwhelmingly took the time to write passionate, individual, well thought-out letters expressing their need for this vital resource. Cudos to the pilots who stood up and took the time to write personal, substantive letters.
